Radiology Report

This special type of X-ray equipment provides 3D images of your teeth, soft tissue, airways, and bones. The latest CBCT machines such as those used in our office have exposures that can be the same or less as two dimensional X-rays providing significantly more accurate information. Three dimensional imaging allows the orthodontist to accurately evaluate the size, position, and structure of the patient’s adjacent teeth. Dr. Lemchen and Dr. Salzer often have these images evaluated by a licensed radiologist. These reports can be, if elected, digitally sent to the patient and or other health specialists as needed.

Airways

Another piece of information provided by these CBCT scans is a detailed evaluation of the patient’s sinuses and airways, which often provides a critical part of the diagnosis of sleep issues such as sleep apnea.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea has been linked to chronic fatigue, ADD and ADHD, and adult cardiac issues.
